Although a native Californian, Boisen spent 16 years living in Europe; Spain, France, Finland, Russia and England. Time was spent working, studying languages, art history and anthropology. Boisen deeply absorbed the European appreciation of beauty and its importance in daily life. Boisen's motto is, "Living with beauty all around us nourishes to the depth of our being."
Boisen currently lives and paints in the beautiful Santa Barbara, California, the Mediterranean of the West Coast of the United States.
